Have you considered thinking about your retirement? Well you should and it does not matter if you are in your twenties or thirties, you still need to be thinking here, because if you do not handle your personal finances correctly, your later years will not be fun. Studies show a harsh reality of those who fail to plan, in that they are indeed planning to fail.
If you are serious about your retirement and do not mind doing a little planning now, or a little reading to educate yourself. Well then, I’d sure like to recommend a very good book to you, one that I have on my bookshelf and one that helped me retire early (age 39). The book I want to recommend to you is:
“Living Well In Retirement” by Lisa Ellis and the Manager of Money Magazine; Money Book by Time Inc, New York, NY; 1999. ISBN: 1-883013-76-3.
This book tells you most everything you need to know about retiring on time, early, with solid and safe investments. It also warns about debt, real estate, stocks, mutual funds and how to create a trust, will, and legally protect yourself through insurance, LLCs, revocable trusts, etc. Rather than me harp on you as to why all this is so important, why not buy this book, read the philosophy and methodology behind a smart investment and retirement plan and think about it.
Speaking from personal experience, you must educate yourself and learn the tricks and the traps now while you have time on your side. Because the best time to plan for retirement is 4-5 decades before you are going to check out of the workforce and into a life of leisure. Please consider this.
